The Acting Central President of the Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation, Professor Harunur Rashid Khan, said that the rich people of society should come forward to rehabilitate the flood-affected people. He said that so many labor houses have been destroyed during this terrible flood in Sylhet. They are suffering economically by losing their jobs and living in destitute conditions.
He said this today while inaugurating the construction of houses for the flood-affected people in various upazilas of North Sylhet district as part of the central rehabilitation project of the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation. He also distributed sewing machines and wheelbarrows for the employment of laborers who had lost their jobs.
Under the chairmanship of Federations District President Nizam Uddin Khan, the meeting was moderated by General Secretary Jalal Uddin. The present guests were Central Vice President Mujibur Rahman Bhuia, District Chief Advisor Maulana Anwar Hossain Khan, Deputy General Secretary Maulana Sohail Ahmad, former Sylhet Metropolitan President Zainal Abedin, Sylhet Metropolitan President Jamil Ahmad Raju, Sylhet District South President Fakhrul Islam Khan, and others.
As Professor Harunur Rashid Khan said, no other doctrine in the world has given labor the dignity and rights that Islamic labor policy has ensured. Today, Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation is continuing the movement of Islamic labor policy to free the laborers who have lost their way, who are tortured, oppressed, and have had their rights taken away and crushed.
He also said that the exploitation-free economy that Prophet Muhammad has shown to the people of the world is a clear direction for the world’s labor movement. Through the implementation of this policy, the rights of the exploited, oppressed, and hardworking people of the world will be established.
