Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation, said that a class of so-called ideological leaders are constantly leading the wrong way by talking about solving the problems of laborers. By inciting owner-labor conflict, they have fostered class strife in the guise of a class war. So many laborers have lost everything while fighting in the wrong way. Basically, the liberation of laborers is impossible without the ideals of Islam. Only Islamic ideals can provide the desired emancipation and welfare of laborers.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the day-long education camp that was held virtually with members of the district and metropolitan committees organized by the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation yesterday. Under the chairmanship of Acting Central President of the Federation Professor Harunur Rashid Khan and presented by General Secretary Advocate Atiqur Rahman, the special guests were former Central President of the Federation and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman, Central advisor Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, former MPs H M Hamidur Rahman Azad, H M Abdul Halim, and Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan. Golam Rabbani, the freedom fighter Abu Taher Khan, Lashkar Mohammad Taslim, Kabir Ahmed, Master Shafiqul Alam, Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mansur Rahman, and others were present.
As Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, even though the laborers of our country are working to the bone, they are treated like fourth-class employees. However, the wheels of the country and the economy keep running through their blood and sweat. Islam has ensured equal rights and respect for people of all classes and professions. Islam says that there is no discrimination between people. It has confirmed the stature by not looking at the nature of the work but by respecting the work. Even though our laborers have been working hard for years, there is no economic improvement in their lives. They spend the whole year struggling with their families in financial and nutritional difficulties. Islamic labor policy does not support conventional labor policy. Rather, Islam has ordered them to pay wages that allow them to live comfortably with their families.
He also said that all the prophets of Islam worked as slaves for a certain period of time, by the grace of Allah,to understand the hardships of labour. The prophets rode sheep and goats. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad rode on the goats of the people of Makkah when he was a child. He has served the owner with integrity and faithfulness. The Messenger of Allah is a role model for all people. He is also an excellent choice for a laborer.Rasool ensured the deserved wages and honor of labor. He advised the owners to pay the wages of the laborers before their sweat dried up. Such a unique and labor-oriented policy is rare in the history of the world. I call upon the Brother Laborers to learn from the life of the Prophet of Allah. to lead their lives in the way shown by him. If the labourers and owners follow the path shown by the Prophet, there will be no discontent in this arena.
Professor Harunur Rashid Khan said in his president’s speech that laborers in Bangladesh have no smile on their faces. There is no alternative to implementing Islamic labor policy to put a smile on their faces. First of all,a mass tide should be created all over the country in favor of Islamic labor policy. When all the workers raise their voices in favor of Islamic labor principles, the workers in this country will achieve their desired liberation.
