Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, stated that a group of so-called ideological leaders consistently take the wrong path when discussing solutions to laborer’s issues. They have cultivated class conflict under the pretense of a class war by inciting owner-labor conflict. Many workers have lost everything as a result of fighting in the wrong direction. In essence, the principles of Islam are necessary for the liberation of laborers. The welfare and emancipation of desired laborers can only be achieved through Islamic ideals.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at yesterday’s virtual education camp, which the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation was hosting for participants from district and metropolitan committees. Acting president Professor Harunur Rashid Khan presided over the meeting, and general secretary Advocate Atiqur Rahman moderated it. The special guest speaker was former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, former MP H M Hamidur Rahman Azad, Central Adviser H M Abdul Halim, and Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan. Central Vice Presidents Golam Rabbani, Abu Taher Khan, Lashkar Md Taslim, Kabir Ahmed, Master Shafiqul Alam, Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mansur Rahman, and others attended.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman noted that even though our country’s laborers work to the bone, they receive subpar treatment. Nevertheless, their blood and sweat continue to power the nation’s machinery and the economy. Islam has guaranteed respect and equal rights for people of all social classes and occupations. According to Islam, there is no distinction between individuals. It has validated its stature by appreciating the work and ignoring its nature. Despite years of arduous work, our laborer’s lives have not improved financially. They struggle financially and nutritionally with their families throughout the entire year. Conventional labor policy is not supported by Islamic labor policy. Instead, Islam has mandated that they pay salaries that cover their families’ standard of living.
He added that, by Allah’s grace, all of the Islamic prophets had experienced slavery for a while to comprehend the difficulties associated with work. The prophets traveled on goats and sheep. When he was a young boy, our beloved Prophet Muhammad rode on the goats of the Makkah community. He has been a dependable and honest servant of the owner. All people can learn from the example that Allah’s Messenger set. He’s also a great option for manual labor. Rasool made sure that laborers received their due pay and respect. Before the workers’ sweat dried up, he counseled the owners to pay the workers’ wages. There has never been a policy as distinctive and labor-focused in world history. I admonish the Brother Laborers to take the Prophet of Allah’s lead and absorb what they can from his life. There won’t be any unrest in this arena if the laborers and owners follow the Prophet’s example.
In his president’s speech, Professor Harunur Rashid Khan claimed that Bangladeshi laborers never smiled. To make them happy, there is no other option than to implement Islamic labor policies. First and foremost, there needs to be a widespread movement in support of Islamic labor laws across the nation. The workers in this country will attain their desired liberation when they all speak out in support of Islamic labor principles.
