Former MP and President of Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation Professor Mujibur Rahman said that the people of the country are deprived of all rights today. Today people don’t have the right to vote. People’s freedom of speech has been taken away. Mass arrests are being made at religious events. In this situation, a united struggle should be made for the realization of human rights.
He said these things yesterday in the speech of the chief guest at the regional director and sector responsible meeting organized virtually on the initiative of the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation. Acting president Professor Harunur Rashid Khan presided over the meeting, and general secretary Advocate Atiqur Rahman moderated it. Central Vice Presidents Golam Rabbani, Lashkar Md Taslim, Assistant Secretary Advocate Alamgir Hossain, Abdus Salam, Md. Mohibbullah, SM Lutfar Rahman, Abdul Matin, organizing secretary Aktaruzzaman, and others attended.
Professor Mujibur Rahman said, there is no liberation of people without Islamic ideals. Islam has honored hard-working people. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) announced that he would go to Paradise with the orphans and the poor. However, in today’s society, those who are poor and miserable are disrespected by words. They are deprived of their due rights. Their labor is not valued. However, the workers work tirelessly and play an outstanding role in increasing the owner’s wealth. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to kiss the hard hands of the laborers. He is ensuring the dignity of workers. Ordered to pay the labor price before the sweat of the worker dries up.
He said, today the people of the country are in various difficulties. There is no rice in people’s homes. They are spending their days with their families. The government has taken away all the rights of the people by holding night polls. Apart from losing the right to vote, people are deprived of all civil and fundamental rights today. Today, people are not safe anywhere in the house or outside. The government has destroyed the rule of law. ANM Shamsul Islam, the president of the federation, has been unjustly detained in jail. I demand the unconditional release of all the prisoners including Shamsul Islam.
In the president’s speech, Professor Harunur Rashid Khan said, the Sramik Kalyan Federation is an organization of hard-working people. Our struggle for the rights of working people is ongoing and will continue. Our only goal is to get the rights of the people of this country. To achieve that right, our ideal is Islam. We want to implement an Islamic labor policy in this country. If the Islamic labor policy is implemented, the working people will get their rights back.
