Atiqur Rahman, Central General Secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation, said that it is the sole duty of people to rush to the service of humanity in any calamity. Humans are for humankind. It cannot be said that those who are well today will not suffer tomorrow. So, when a person or community faces danger, it is the responsibility of the other community to come forward to help the suffering community. People are living a miserable life affected by the ongoing floods. Today, the capable people of society should stand by their side.
He said these things today while distributing relief to flood-affected people in several shelters in Itna Upazila of Kishoreganj district. During the distribution of relief under the initiative of the Kishoreganj district of the federation, the central office secretary of the federation, Nurul Amin, eminent lawyer Sheikh Rokan Reza, district president of the federation, Khaled Hasan, chief advisor of Itna upazila Abul Hossain, Sadar upazila president Saiful Islam, etc., were also present.
Atiqur Rahman said that many people had to leave their homes and go to shelters due to the ongoing floods. They have to live a miserable life in shelters. There is a shortage of adequate food and medicine for the number of people who are in shelters. To save the flood-effected people from this suffering, capable people and several organizations should come forward. As per its ability, the Sramik Kalyan Federation is trying to stand by the flood-affected people in different parts of the country. This initiative will continue till the end of the disaster.
