Atiqur Rahman, the Central General Secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation, said that a large part of the country is still submerged in flood water. just when Eid-ul-Azha is approaching. Eid means joy and happiness. This year’s Eid is very painful for the flood-affected people. We have to spread the joy of Eid among the flood-affected people by relieving their suffering. The joy of Eid should be shared with them. This should be our pledge this Eid.

He said these things today while distributing Eid materials among the flood affected laborers in Kulaura upazila under the initiative of Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation in Moulvibazar district. The President of the Sylhet Metropolitan Federation, Advocate Jamil Ahmad Raju, Central Executive Council Member Maulana Farooq Ahmad, Moulvibazar District President Alauddin Shah, General Secretary Abdul Mumit, Kulaura Upazila President Belal Ahmad Chowdhury, General Secretary Sultan Ahmad and others were present.

One of the goals of Eid, according to Atiqur Rahman, is to assist the weak and underprivileged members of society. The most helpless people in our country are the laborers. A significant region of the nation has been impacted by flooding this year, including the broader Sylhet area. There is no food in the homes of workers in flood-affected areas, and they have lost their jobs. Additionally, they lack the resources to pay for flood-related illnesses. Eid-ul-Azha is rapidly coming right now. For at least a new clothing for Eid, the kids in these families look up to their parents. The ability of workers to make their children happy will be limited by this problem. The affluent and numerous welfare-oriented organizations in society should step forward to put a smile on people’s faces in such a situation.

He also said that since the beginning of the flood, the Sramik Kalyan Federation has been trying to stand by the flood-affected people in different parts of the country with love and sympathy. We wish that not even a single worker would feel helpless in this crisis. We are committed to doing everything in our power to get their lives back to normal. Like any disaster in the past, every leader and worker of Sramik Kalyan was besides the flood victims this time too. We are expecting that the workers of Sramik Kalyan will share the joy of Eid with the flood-affected people in the same way on this year’s Eid also, as they share the joy of Eid with their families.

Distribution of relief in Habiganj: Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation has distributed relief materials among flood-affected people in Baniachong upazila under the initiative of Hajiganj district. Kazi Abdur Razzak, former chief adviser of the upazila of the federation, Habibur Rahman, chief adviser, district president of the federation, Kazi Abdur Rauf Bahar, Baniachong upazila president Mahbubur Rahman, general secretary Md. Mozzamel, etc. were present.
