Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation and Former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman said, that the people of the country today are deprived of all kinds of rights in all spheres of life. Although the constitution of the country guarantees rights, a class of people has taken away those rights.
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the half-year responsible gathering organized by the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation. Acting president Professor Harunur Rashid Khan presided over the meeting, and general secretary Advocate Atiqur Rahman moderated it. The advisor of the Federation and former MP HM Hamidur Rahman Azad was the special guest. Central Vice Presidents Golam Rabbani, Lashkar Md Taslim, Kabir Ahmad, Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Mansoor Rahman, Assistant Secretary Advocate Alamgir Hossain, and others attended.
Professor Mujibur Rahman said the Declaration of Independence said that justice should be done to the people. Justice and rights of people should be ensured. Democracy and the rule of law must be ensured. Today that declaration is being violated. Today the country is not running according to the constitution. There is no human rights in the country. No democratic rights. They are oppressing common people with one after another invisible and false cases. Working people must unite against this oppression.
He said, that if the working people of the grassroots unite, the end of all oppression will be ensured very quickly. The victory of the movement will begin with the hands of the working people. Leaders must play a leading role in achieving that victory. The movement for truth and justice with the working people spread all over the country must be finalized. Allah will give success to those who will try to play the role with honesty and courage.
Professor Mujib said that former MP ANM Shamsul Islam, the president of the federation, has been in prison for two years as a victim of oppressors. The government is not releasing former president Mia Golam Parwar despite repeatedly getting bail. I am calling on the government to release both of them soon.
HM Hamidur Rahman Azad said, there is no alternative to ideological leadership to advance the work of labor organizations. Leaders must work systematically to strengthen grassroots organizations. If the grassroots organization is strong, the national organization will stand on a strong structure.
