Atiqur Rahman is a well-known labor leader. He is the Central General Secretary of Bangladesh Sramik kalyan Federation. He is a attorny of Dhaka Judge Court and a former student leader.
The family life:
On February 27, 1984, Atiqur Rahman was born into a respectable Muslim family in the Bijoy Nagar village of 1 No. North Hamchadi Union in the Sadar Upazila of the Lakshmipur District. His father was a retired principle officer of Bangladesh Agricultural Bank. In his private life, he is married with two children.
Academic life:
Atiqur Rahman successfully completed his Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Double Kamil (Hadith and Fiqh) under Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board. He got scholarship in primary scholarship examination. In Fazil exam he secured 18th rank in National Merit List, 8th Rank in National Merit List for BA Examination, 20th Rank in MA Examination under National University. He also completed his MBA (HRM) from Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) and LLB from National University.
He completed his MPhil research on ‘Disagreement in Islamic Politics in Bangladesh: Unity Process’ under Islami University. Which has already received final approval from the University Syndicate.
Student politics:
Since his days as a student, he has been active in politics. He was put forward for the positions of Secretary General and President, for Badda thana, Dhaka North. He was chosen as central Secretary General for Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir in the 2014 and 2015 legislative sessions. He served Islami Chhatra Shibir as the central president in the 2016 session. In December 2016, he left student politics.
Professional Career:
Following his time as a student, he is currently working as a lawyer at the Dhaka Judge Court.
Political and labor movement:
He began to participate in the Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation, as of the start of 2017. Between January 2017 and January 2019, he served as a member of the Central Executive Council, President of Badda Thana, Vice President of Dhaka City North, and the Central Deputy General Secretary of the Sramik Kalyan Federation. He was elected as the central general secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Kalyan Federation, in February 2019.
Cultural and Literary Activities:
He has been producing essays and articles on a range of topics ever since he was a student. In addition to supporting a number of literary and cultural groups, he has occasionally been involved in the editing of various journals. He was the previous Executive Editor of the well-known children’s monthly magazine New Kishore Kanth. His writing has appeared in a number of publications, including Daily Sangram, Weekly Sonar Bangla, Chhatra Sangbad, and Sramik Barta. He is currently the editor of the bimonthly publication Sramik Barta.
Extension and development of education:
He has engaged in many educational events, scholarship programs, career guidance initiatives, giving financial aid to underprivileged children, and other initiatives for the advancement and promotion of education. His influence on shaping public opinion and the street movement calling for the repeal of anti-Islamic and anti-moral education measures has been significant.
Social Engagement:
Since he was a student, Atiqur Rahman has participated in numerous social and student welfare initiatives. At various points, he effectively carried out his duties while participating in the following social and student welfare initiatives.
